    FAQ’s

  • Q. Do I need to have a qualified team of HSE Media Divers for filming my underwater scene or production?
    A. If you are filming in the UK and within 12 miles of the lowest water line of the shore then the answer is yes. There are some companies and camera operators out there who will provide their services and are not HSE qualified for diving operations. As a client you run the risk of prosecution and possible incarceration should a serious incident occur, by the HSE for being complicit in the actions of non qualified underwater camera operators. You should ask to see the qualifications of your underwater filming team prior to any work starting.

  • Q. What about insurances?
    A. Your underwater filming team will require adequate public liability and professional indemnity insurances so ask to see a copy of their certificate.

  • Q. Do I need a contract with the filming company?
    A. Yes. Make sure you have a signed contract in place and you understand who is responsible for what. Find out if there are any ‘hidden’ charges such as underwater stage fees, heating of water and lighting. Make sure that at the end of each session you review the footage with the camera crew and ensure that you accept what they have done. If you are not content with their work say why at time of shooting as you should be on hand as director.
